Type specimen: UMNH VP 18040, a partial skeleton (articulated partial postcranial skeleton). Its type locality is Eagle's Nest, UMNH VP Loc. 191, which is in a Pliensbachian/Toarcian eolian sandstone in the Navajo Sandstone Formation of Utah.
