Type specimen: Holotype V 99, Geologisches Institut der Universität Wien. Its type locality is Nayband Fm, Locality 1 - Wali-Abad, which is in a Rhaetian reef, buildup or bioherm mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Nayband Formation of Iran.
