Sister taxon: Pseudoparaparchites kansanensis

Type specimen: USNM 85427. Its type locality is Cottonwood River Bridge, below road, Elmdale, which is in a Gzhelian shallow subtidal shale in the Elmdale Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: epifaunal detritivore-grazer

Distribution:

• Permian of United States (1: Kansas collection)

• Carboniferous of United States (2: Kansas)
