Type specimen: GPIT 1797, a partial skull. Its type locality is Monte San Giorgio nothosaurs, which is in an Anisian/Ladinian offshore shale in the Monte San Giorgio bituminous shales Formation of Switzerland.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Monte San Giorgio nothosaurs
