Type specimen: MUSM 1676, a partial skull. Its type locality is Cerro Colorado (Pisco, Miocene), which is in a Tortonian coastal horizon in the Pisco Formation of Peru.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Cerro Colorado (Pisco, Miocene)
