Type specimen: BMNH R14370, a partial skeleton (skull, fore paddles and anterior trunk). Its type locality is Seatown, which is in a Pliensbachian offshore marl in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Seatown
