Sister taxa: Marocella antiqua, Marocella depressa, Marocella mira, Marocella morenensis, Marocella tichkaensis

Type specimen: PIN 4664/586, a shell. Its type locality is HG03, Horse Gully, Stansbury Basin, Yorke Peninsula, which is in a Botomian carbonate packstone in the Parara Limestone Formation of Australia.

Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal detritivore

Distribution: found only at HG03, Horse Gully, Stansbury Basin, Yorke Peninsula
