Sister taxa: Cystothalamiella alaskaensis, Cystothalamiella craticulata, Cystothalamiella ducta, Cystothalamiella polyducta, Cystothalamiella tuboides

Type specimen: MC-8a3-89. Its type locality is Heceta Island, which is in a Ludlow carbonate limestone in the Heceta Formation of Alaska.
