Type specimen: SBCM L3210-1, a partial skeleton (partial skeleton with skull & mandible). Its type locality is SBCM 1.103.77, which is in an Aquitanian marine conglomerate in the Vaqueros Formation of California.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at SBCM 1.103.77
