Sister taxa: Palaeonictis gigantea, Palaeonictis occidentalis, Palaeonictis peloria

Type specimen: UF 244450, a mandible (associated right and left dentaries). Its type locality is WY0001, which is in a Sandcouleean terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (2: Wyoming collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
