Sister taxa: Lachnostoma disputa, Lachnostoma platypyga

Type specimen: YPM 18144, a cephalon/head (hypostome). Its type locality is Locality 13, Round Hill, Zone "J", which is in a Blackhillsian shallow subtidal limestone/chert in the Garden City Formation of Utah.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore

Distribution:

• Ordovician of Canada (23: Alberta collections), United States (23: Nevada, Utah)

Total: 46 collections each including a single occurrence
