Belongs to Ischyrophyma according to H. B. Whittington 1963
Sister taxa: Celmus granulatus, Celmus michaelmus, Ischyrophyma tumida
Type specimen: GSC 16166, a cephalothorax. Its type locality is Alpha Boulder, Table Head, which is in a Whiterockian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in Canada.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at Alpha Boulder, Table Head
