Sister taxa: Tangshanella byrangi, Tangshanella nakakuboensis, Tangshanella taimyrica

Type specimen: IGPS109118, a shell (Conjoined shell). Its type locality is Uzunbulak Section, Bed 7, Piqiang, Artux City, which is in an Asselian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Piqiang Formation of China.
