Type specimen: USNM 265392, a partial skull (premaxillary beak). Its type locality is Gravatt's Mill, near Hanover Court House, which is in a Burdigalian coastal marl in the Calvert Formation of Virginia.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Gravatt's Mill, near Hanover Court House
