Type specimens:

  • Scalenodontoides macrodontes: MNHN 1957-23, a mandible. Its type locality is Morobong Hill, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.
  • Belesodon leribeensis: Its type locality is Leribe-Subeng, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian terrestrial horizon in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.
