Type specimen: JME SOS 3615, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Langenaltheimer Haardt quarry, Solnhofen (JME collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
