Type specimen: MCN PV10105a, a partial skeleton (Articulated partial skeleton, lacking scapular girdle and limbs). Its type locality is Posto de Gasolina, site A, which is in a Ladinian wet floodplain horizon in the Santa Maria Formation of Brazil.
