Type specimen: VMNH 825, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Solite Quarries (VMNH collection), which is in a Norian lacustrine - small shale in the Cow Branch Formation of North Carolina.

Distribution: found only at Solite Quarries (VMNH collection)
