Sister taxon: Houchangocyathus yaoi
Type specimen: OCU 6542. Its type locality is Houchang, Yabeina zone, Zunyi County, which is in a Capitanian reef, buildup or bioherm packstone/grainstone in the Maokou Formation of China.
Ecology: stationary intermediate-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Permian of China (4 collections)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
