Sister taxon: Menura novaehollandiae

Type specimen: QM F.20887 (AR 11466), a limb element (complete left carpometacarpus). Its type locality is Upper Site, which is in an Aquitanian/Burdigalian terrestrial limestone in the System B Formation of Australia.

Ecology: volant insectivore

Distribution: found only at Upper Site
