Sister taxa: Amplexizaphrentis exzentrica, Amplexizaphrentis illizidensis, Zaphrentoides (Amplexizaphrentis) californicus, Triplophyllites (Triplophyllites)
Type specimen: MMH 11947. Its type locality is Cape Stosch T67-88, River 1, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wegener Halvo Formation of Greenland.
