Type specimen: NMMNH P-62976. Its type locality is JJ2-77, Hot Springs Ridge (JJ-HSA), Bear Lake, which is in a Spathian deep-water shale in the Thaynes Formation of Idaho.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution:
• Triassic of United States (4: Idaho collections)
