Type specimen: CAS 4657, a shell. Its type locality is CAS Loc. 325A, between Chorrera and Cibarco [Tubará Fm], which is in a Miocene marine siliciclastic in the Tubará Formation of Colombia.

Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore

Distribution:

• Pliocene of Colombia (3 collections), Mexico (1), Venezuela (2)

• Miocene of Colombia (4), Trinidad and Tobago (9)

Total: 19 collections each including a single occurrence
