Sister taxon: Raanespongia iranica

Type specimen: GSC 32716. Its type locality is GSC C-10756, Blind Fjord, Ellesmere Island, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Great Bear Cape Formation of Canada.

Distribution:

• Permian of Canada (4: Nunavut collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
