Type specimens:
- Mexicoceras guadalupense: Its type locality is USGS 2965 green, southern Delaware Mountains, which is in a Roadian/Capitanian slope limestone in the Delaware Mountain Formation of Texas
- Waagenoceras clavatum: Its type locality is B.E.G. 55-T-4, Terry's Church, east of Casey's Last Chance Well, which is in a Capitanian carbonate marl in the Bell Canyon Formation of Texas.
