Sister taxon: Mesopolystoechus wangyingziensis
Type specimen: TSNIGRI 4501/3a, a wing (well preserved fragment). Its type locality is Shurab I, Ditch 20, which is in a Toarcian terrestrial horizon in the Sulyukta Formation of Kyrgyzstan.

Distribution: found only at Shurab I, Ditch 20
