Type specimen: IVPP V15900, a skeleton (a nearly complete articulated skeleton with some poorly preserved feather imprints). Its type locality is Jianchang, which is in an Aptian lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Jianchang
