Sister taxa: Palemydops minor, Palemydops rubidgeae
Type specimen: BMNH R. 4955, a skull. Its type locality is Biesjiespoort, Victoria West, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
Ecology: herbivore
Distribution: found only at Biesjiespoort, Victoria West
