Sister taxon: Ameura missouriensis

Type specimen: ZNG Kr. 1220/560, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Treskelen, Creek IV, Hornsund, which is in an Asselian marine limestone in the Treskelodden Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

Distribution:

• Permian of Canada (1: Yukon collection), Svalbard and Jan Mayen (3)
