Sister taxa: Subascosymplegma guangxiensis, Subascosymplegma oussifensis
Type specimen: IG 5028. Its type locality is Xiangbo reef, unit 33, Longlin County, which is in a Wordian reef, buildup or bioherm framestone/grainstone in the Maokou Formation of China.
Ecology: stationary epifaunal suspension feeder
