Type specimen: IVPP 10593, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skull and partial skeleton). Its type locality is North Canyon area, (Bayan Mandahu) [SCDP surface collections], which is in a Campanian eolian sandstone in the Djadokhta Formation of China.
