Type specimen: MMUM LL 8023, a set of postcrania. Its type locality is 'Alum Shale' (Main Alum Shales, Harpoceras bifrons), Whitby-Saltwick, Yorkshire, which is in a Bifrons marine shale/mudstone in the Alum Shale Formation of the United Kingdom.
