Belongs to Gondaconularia according to J. B. Waterhouse 1986

Sister taxa: Gondaconularia elviniaria, Gondaconularia magnicosta, Gondaconularia triassica

Type specimen: NZGS CO 1418. Its type locality is GS5514, Lee River (N28/f7484), which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Stephens Formation of New Zealand.

Ecology: stationary epifaunal suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at GS5514, Lee River (N28/f7484)
