Sister taxa: Homoioptera gigantea, Homoioptera kortumi, Homoioptera latipenne, Homoioptera vorhallensis

Type specimen: MNHN.F.R51048, an exoskeleton (fore and hind wings, prothoracic lobes, fragment of fore leg). Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France.
