Type specimen: MSO Coll Herd Pal 100, a wing (fragment of right wing). Its type locality is Piesberg quarry, "Flöz Zweibänke" (Museum am Schölerberg coll), which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D lacustrine deltaic claystone in the Flöz Zweibänke Formation of Germany.
