Type specimen: Herdina H413, a nymph. Its type locality is Pit 11, Braidwood, Mazon Creek (Herdina coll), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Pit 11, Braidwood, Mazon Creek (Herdina coll)
