Sister taxa: Phaneroneura martynovae, Phaneroneura reducta, Phaneroneura rineharti
Type specimen: Coll Lapeyrie Ld LAP 305ab, a forewing (almost complete & well preserved forewing). Its type locality is F28, Notre Dame des Clans, Lodève basin, which is in an Artinskian pond siltstone in the Salagou Formation of France.
