Type specimen: GSI/SR/PAL-G074, a tooth (a well-preserved, right mf4). Its type locality is North of Upparhatti village, near Gokak, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Intertrappean Beds Formation of India.
