Type specimen: SMNH-P2039.37, a seed/fruit. Its type locality is kaolin quarry, between Willows and Readlyn, which is in a Maastrichtian wet floodplain claystone/claystone in the Whitemud Formation of Canada.

Distribution: found only at kaolin quarry, between Willows and Readlyn
