Sister taxon: Gravemys barsboldi
Type specimen: IVPP V4241, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Trufan (Turpan), which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Subashi Formation of China.
Ecology: aquatic omnivore
Distribution: found only at Trufan (Turpan)
