Type specimen: USNM 16809, a limb element (distal right tarsometatarsus). Its type locality is State Ports Authority Terminal, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in South Carolina.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at State Ports Authority Terminal
