Napora proba Yeh 1987 (radiolarian)

Protozoa - Nassellaria - Ultranaporidae

Original description: Cephalis small, slightly perforate, covered by layer of microgranular silica, with small cephalocone at base of cephalis. Horn short, triradiate with three narrow ridges alternating with three wide grooves, node-like short spine extending out from each ridge at two thirds of horn. Thorax subtriangular in outline, comprised predominantly of pentagonal and hexagonal pore frames. Two well-developed transverse ridges on distal half of thorax. Feet long, massive, triradiate with three narrow ridges alternating with three wide grooves.

Original remarks: Napora proba, n. sp., differs from N. cerromesaensis Pessagno, Whalen, and Yeh by having a horn with rounded apical end.

Etymology: Probus-a-um (Latin, adj.) excellent.
