Pseudoristola faceta Yeh 1987 (radiolarian)

Protozoa - Nassellaria - Parvicingulidae

Original description: Test subcylindrical, usually with five post-abdominal chambers. Cephalis conical, thorax and subsequent chambers trapezoidal in outline. Earlier chambers sparsely perforate, covered with layer of microgranular silica. Post abdominal chambers consisting of one thick layer of regularly arranged pentagonal and hexagonal pore frames with three transverse rows in each chamber. Pore Frames slightly increasing in size distally. Test with H-link pattern along joints, without well-developed circumferential ridges. Final post-abdominal chamber terminating in large, inflated, spherical expansion.

Type specimen: NMNS (000151). Its type locality is Suplee-Izee area, OR-600M, which is in a Toarcian marine tuff/limestone in the Hyde Formation of Oregon.

Ecology: passively mobile planktonic omnivore

Distribution:

• Jurassic of United States (7: Oregon collections)

Total: 7 collections each including a single occurrence
