Sister taxon: Opomyza venusta
Type specimen: LACMIP 3668, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Rott (Statz Collection), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - small shale in the Rott Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Rott (Statz Collection)
