Type specimens:

  • Aspidagnostus laevis: USNM 143130, a cephalon/head. Its type locality is Duck Creek [Raiff Limestone], which is in a Dresbachian marine limestone in the Raiff Limestone Formation of Nevada.
  • Aspidagnostus pentagonus: Its type locality is Tianmashan II, bed 5, which is in a Guzhangian slope limestone/shale in the Huayansi Formation of China.
  • Aspidagnostus taoyuanensis:

Ecology: slow-moving epifaunal detritivore

Distribution:

• Cambrian of Canada (2: Yukon collections), China (4), Kazakhstan (2), United States (1: Nevada)

Total: 9 collections each including a single occurrence
