Sister taxa: none

Type specimen: NMQR 3329, a partial skull (skull lacking zygoma, circumtemporal and jaw suspension elements, and the lower jaws). Its type locality is Farm Vleikraal (upper), which is in a Lopingian delta plain sandstone/mudstone in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa.

Ecology: planktonic herbivore
