Sister taxa: Metutharocrinus spinifer, Metutharocrinus undulatus

Type specimen: SUI 33364 (dorsal cup). Its type locality is Big Frog Bayou - south side bridge (Loc. 21), which is in a Morrowan marine limestone/shale in the Bloyd Formation of Arkansas.

Ecology: stationary intermediate-level epifaunal suspension feeder

Distribution:

• Carboniferous of United States (6: Arkansas, Oklahoma collections)

Total: 6 collections each including a single occurrence
