Sister taxon: Prodendrogale yunnanica
Type specimen: IVPP V 18215, a tooth (right M1). Its type locality is Leilao, which is in a Baodean alluvial fan claystone in the Xiaohe Formation of China.
Ecology: scansorial insectivore-frugivore
Distribution: found only at Leilao
