Sister taxa: Luidia alternata, Luidia ciliaris, Luidia hungarica, Luidia sanjoaquinensis
Type specimen: Holotype 10652, UCMP B-5046. Its type locality is Asteroidea, Etchegoin Fm., Kettleman Hills, Avenal, which is in a Pliocene coastal sandstone in the Etchegoin Formation of California.
Ecology: epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at Asteroidea, Etchegoin Fm., Kettleman Hills, Avenal
