Sister taxon: Rhomphaiodon minor

Type specimen: SNP 1000, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Saint-Nicolas-de-Port, which is in a Rhaetian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Grès à Avicula contorta Formation of France.
